Nigeria´s colors

Pure angel. White in Nigeria represents pureness. The image of an Angel depicts almost perfectly this idea, especially because angels are always associated with children. This is why the child angel represented in this picture can be considered the paradigmatic example of pureness for this culture.

Be careful. Red in Nigeria means passion, but also danger. The intention of this picture, a red flag in the grass, was to depict the second meaning of this color for Nigerians, representing the need to be cautious about something, in this case, buried cables.

Wise tree. Green in Nigeria represents peace and nature. This tree near the Student Union at Ole Miss seems to be an old and strong tree, depicting wisdom because of its age and spreading a sense of peace around it.

Blue gold. Blue in Nigeria is associated with serenity and positivity. The fourth picture of this series is intended to generate these two feelings among the audience. The imagined sound of the water beyond the image transmits calmness and a real sense of optimism.

Sad Vivian. Black in Nigeria is associated to death and sadness, like in many other cultures in the world. Vivian with her black and purple umbrella inspired me to represent sorrow and sadness.
