Time is fleeting and the IEP is going to end. This is the first time that I came to America and I have experienced a lot of things that are different from China’s. There was one thing that made me a deep impression.
Last Sunday, my friend Hanna and I were waiting for school bus to Wal-Mart at Student Union. A few minutes later, two Koreans came and told us there was no bus on Sunday. They said they also wanted to go to Wal-Mart. So we decided to walk there. It is a really far distance between Ole miss and Wal-Mart. We went off at around 6:30 pm and spent about 40 minutes arriving destination. Because we had different shopping plans with the two Korean students, so we resolved to go back school separately. After Hanna and I finished shopping, it was 8:30pm and it was getting dark outside.
At first, it is so unfortunate that we couldn’t find the direction back to school. Because that was the first time that walking to Wal-Mart. And Hanna and I tried to recall the coming road. After we finding the way to Ole miss, the sky was totally dark. We felt nervous, because we are both young girls and it was really unsafe at night, especially in foreign country.
The most important point is there was no one on the street except for us. It is really different in China. No matter how late at night, there are some people walking on the street, let alone at around 9:00 pm. It is rare that no one on street at night in China. There will be a lot of people walking on street in big cities. But in American, just cars passed one by one and the speed is very fast. And sometimes we can hear energetic music coming from cars.
We bought a lot of things. We were too tired to carrying so many stuffs and walking all the time. The music from cars sometimes was quite aloud and sounded clearly. Just like some murder scenes in movies, a guy uses his gun shooting at us from cars unexpectedly. Oh, it’s so terrible. We tried to keep calm and told ourselves. Don’t be scared, it’s safe in Oxford.
Finally, after a long walking, we arrived at campus safely. Although it was really hard time, I had an unforgettable experience in America.
