The details of using colour in the scenes

1. The first scene I want to talk about is from the movie Harry Potter. At the beginning of the movie clip was a cup of coffee . Its yellowish brown colour gave me a sense of heaviness, which supposed to be the beginning of this chapter. Then a lady with a pink shawl and purple dress appeared, holding the white cup and stirring the coffee.Contrasted with the white rigid cup, her pink style clothes just left a deep impression on the viewer because it made her looked approachable and tender. When Harry Potter came in though the door with a black and white uniform, we also caught a glimpse at the wall on which hanging some white plates with black and white cats inside. The lady told Potter to sit by her black table and wrote something as punishment.At this time I saw her mulberry curtain and pink tablecloth. Then Potter began writing on the white paper while the cats are meowing.It suddenly occurred to me that three colours are being widely used in this clip,that is pink(or purple) ,black and white. Whatever Potter wrote also was carved on his hand,which surely made people feel scared ,however the lady was still smiling. So the pink colour in the lady's room was no longer soft but terrfying .In my opinion ,the black and the white color is used to emphasize the pink color and impart a tense feeling.


In China,black and white do create a contrast to show tense atmosphere,and stress other colors and things as well.But pink almost just stand for tender and cuteness.


2. The second scene I'm going to talk is about the movie Hell Boy. A small golden thing is shown at the first sight,after which a white skin man appeared.I think the golden color here is a weapon and the white face stands for evil.Then the shot was turned to where four people were talking and the man who have red face is the most unforgettable one,I think the red colour here represents loyalty.The evil white man opened the golden thing and let go a green been.The green been jumped into the sewer and grew into a giant monster immediately because of the water.The red-faced man tried hard to save a baby covered in blue clothes from being hurt by the green monster.As far as i'm concerned, the blue colour means peace and harmony here ,so the man is fighting for the peace. When the red-faced man was fighting with the green monster ,he climbed up onto the white letter lights. The monster broken the lights one by one,but there're still one left.The white light can be seen as justice and rightness so it won't be extinguished.After a short hesitation,the red-faced beat the monster.To my surprise,the green dead monster became plants .In my view,the green colour in this clip has two opposite meanings.The green monster stands for evil but when it changed into green plants,it means hope and a new start.


In my country, gold means money and power .Red sometimes can stands for loyalty, for instance,there's a famous red-faced loyal person called Guan Gong in ancient times.White and green sometimes stand for evil ,however they also have another meaning ,such as ,white is for pure and justice,green is for hope.
