Meanings of colors

first clip:Hell boy 2
At the beginning of the clip,a young man with pale face take out a small green bean from a golden box and throw it out.then,the bean gets water from sewer and becomes a giant monster.So, Hellboy start protecting other people and fighting against the monster.Finally,Hell boy wins the battle and the tree monster spreads its white seeds to everywhere before death.

In the clip,I think the most important colors the director used are pale,golden,red,green,white and black.pale face shows the young man is a negative character.He is cold-blood man and doesn't care people's life.golden box shows this box is precious and holy.so,It must hide something have the same significance.Red is the color of Hellboy's skin.although hellboy is a devil,he is powerful and dangerous,he still has a warm heart.In the dark background,this red is opposite to the monster's green and attact people's attention. At the end of the clip,the green monster gets a deadly shoot.before its death,it becomes a huge flower and spreads its white seeds.White usually means purity so I think the green monster is not a fully devil.It's innocent because the pale-face man control it.

In my country,we also use a pale-face to show someone's evil and use golden to show something's precious.The only diference at the meaning of color,I think,is we will use the red color to show a pefect god but not a dangerous evil.

second clip:Blades of Glory
In the Blades of Glory,we can see two men make up a group and take part in a skating competition.Right before their show,a group dressed in deep blue gets a good grade and they are laughing at the male-male group.It's obviously that both of the two men are also a little bit nervous.They make a fault during the performance but they don't give up.Finally,they win the respect of audiences.

In the clip,The color is connect with laughing.the one man is dressed in red,like fire;and the other is in blue,like water.It seems that there is a harmony.but actually,don't forget,they are both male.so when you find this little change,you will know why you are laughing.It looks lile they are balanced and serious except their faces.so colors used here to show a normal way of skating and the director choose some smart direction to make up a comedy. 

In my country,red can represent fire and blue can represent water or river.Red in china also means happy,good and justice.Chinese people think red color can make them have a good luck.blue color is not often used in traditional chinese,but in Beijing Oprea,blue-face symbolize someone's brave and spirit of resist.
