THE MEANING OF COLORS IN CHINA

Color symbolism can vary between various cultures around the world, and the way people perceive colors are completly different. In China, for example, unlike western cultures white represents death and chinese people use white instead of black during funerals. This is due to the fact that they associate white with the winter time in which nature is dead.

Red symbolizing celebration and luck is used in many cultural cerimonies such as weddings.

Green means vigor and energy.

Another thing related to this color is that a green hat indicates a man's wife is cheating on him. Yellow is associate with pornography, and also with the royalty, because in ancient China Huang Di was known as the Yellow Emperor because his army tribe honored the value of the yellow earth, which is a symbol of farming.
