Meaning of the Colors

I choose two scenes which are 'Blades of Glory' and 'Down with Love'.

1. Blades of Glory

What I saw are two men who participated in Ice skating Competiton. It's funny because I never saw male-male team on the Ice link. Although they took a tiny mistake, they did their best in front of lots of crowd.

In this scene, I could find two colors, 'Bluish silver' and 'Redsish Yellow', I think
these are representing water and fire that couldn't mix well. So, I think that two men's dance symbolizes the harmony between water and fire.

For your understanding, I'm going to explain about the Korea's national flag. If you see it, you can notice that there are 4 colors. White, black, red, and blue. In order to make it short, I'll expain just red and blue colors. Red means 'positive thing' or 'man' or 'Sun' like 'fire', but blue means 'negative thing' or 'woman' or 'moon' like 'water'. Like these, the meaning of red and blue in this scene is almost same with Korea's. That is, incompatible things.

In my opinion, it's much better if there is a color that shows the harmony between red and blue, I mean, 'Green color'. It's my suggestion.

2. Down with Love

In this scene, I saw a girl who wants to meet a guy. So, she prepared her appearance perfectly for a date and went to see him. But this guy broke an appointment again and again. So, I focused on her clothes' colors that represented a changing of her thought.

I could see three colors which are yellow, black, and purple.She wore yellow dress for the first date. In korea, yellow means cheeriness or something that may need attention. In this case, I'd like to say that yellow represent a cheeriness.

For the second date, she wore black which symbolizes the dignity or death in Korea. So, by wearing kind of black clothes, she could show a dignity which means that she wants a guy to respect her.

The last one was purple. Purple means the cruel, deep wounds, death and so on. Sometime, Korean people considered as the psycho who likes purple coloer. But, I think the meaning of purple in this situation is deep wounds made by a guy because he dumped her many times.
